For owners who are unsure why they are not ranking

SEO audit services that tell you what to fix first.

Plenty of tools can print a list of 300 problems. Most of them do not matter. A useful audit tells you the handful that are costing you money, in the order to fix them, and what to ignore. That costs far less than months of work in the wrong place.

  • What: a full review of technical, on-page, links, local and competitors.
  • You get: a sorted 90-day plan. You keep it even if you never hire me.
  • Cost: $499 once. Comprehensive audits elsewhere often cost $4,000 or more.
  • Skip it if: you have a new site with little content. Build first.

In one paragraph

What is an SEO audit?

An SEO audit is a structured review of why a website does or does not rank, and what to change. It looks at whether Google can read your site, whether your pages match what people search, how your links compare with competitors, and how you appear locally and in AI answers. A good audit ends in a sorted plan. A bad one ends in a long PDF that nobody uses.

What SEO audit services check

A checklist finds symptoms. An audit finds the cause.

Any tool can report that a title is too long. It cannot tell you why a whole category stopped being indexed, or why you lost rankings to a site with worse content. That takes a person looking at your data, your market and your history together.

I look at technical health (crawling, indexing, speed), pages (what each one targets and whether it deserves to rank), links (quality, gaps, anything risky), local (profile, reviews, citations) and competitors (what the top 3 do that you do not).

I also check how you appear in AI answers. Then all of it gets ranked by likely business effect.

How it works

From your login to a 90-day plan.

  1. You share read access

Search Console and Analytics. You keep full control, and you can remove my access at any time.

  2. I crawl and pull data

Screaming Frog, Search Console, Ahrefs and Semrush, checked against each other.

  3. I study your competitors

The top 3 for your main searches: their pages, links and profiles.

  4. I rank every finding

By likely effect and effort, so the first month goes to what pays back most.

  5. You get the plan

A clear write-up and 90-day roadmap you can use with anyone.

The effect

What an audit changes, and what it does not.

Right away

You stop guessing. You know what is wrong and what is fine, and you can stop paying for work that does not matter.

Weeks 1 to 4

Quick fixes go in. Blocked pages get indexed and titles improve. Serious errors can show results fast.

Months 2 to 6

The bigger items in the plan, like new pages and links, start to move rankings.

What it will not do

An audit alone changes nothing on your site. The results come from doing the work it lists.

Why, and why not

Who needs an SEO audit, and who does not.

You need this if

  • Traffic has fallen and nobody can say why.
  • You have paid for SEO and cannot tell if it worked.
  • You are about to redesign or move your site.
  • You want a second opinion on a current agency.

You do not need this if

  • Your site is brand new with few pages. Build first, audit later.
  • You have no budget or time to act on the findings.
  • You had a proper audit recently and have not done the work yet.
  • You already know exactly what is wrong and just need it done.
Free vs paid vs comprehensive

Which kind of audit do you need?

Ranges come from published agency pricing. Choose based on the size of your site, not on the size of the report.

Questions people ask

SEO audit FAQ.

What do SEO audit services include?
A proper audit reviews technical health, on-page content, backlinks and competitors, and often local and AI search visibility. The part that matters is the output: a sorted list of what to fix first, with reasons, instead of a raw export from a tool.
How much does an SEO audit cost?
Basic audits for small sites often start around $500 to $1,000. Comprehensive audits for large sites can run from $4,000 to over $11,000. My SEO X-Ray is $499, and it is built for small and mid-sized businesses.
How long does an SEO audit take?
Small sites commonly take 5 to 10 days. Large, complex sites can take 3 to 6 weeks, because findings have to be checked with the teams who would fix them.
What is the difference between a free and a paid audit?
A free audit, including mine, points at the biggest visible issues in a short review. A paid audit goes through the whole site, your data and your competitors, and ends in a plan you can act on.
Do I have to hire you after the audit?
No. The plan is yours to keep and use with anyone, including your own team.
How often should I audit my site?
Once or twice a year for most sites, and always before a redesign or migration. Also run one after any sharp, unexplained drop in traffic.

“Sometimes an audit's best finding is that you are doing fine and should stop paying someone. I have told people that before. I would rather earn your trust than one more monthly fee.”
