For Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce stores

Ecommerce SEO services that bring sales, not just visits.

You have hundreds of products and almost no sales from Google. Each paid click costs more than the last, and your category pages say nothing useful. I fix what holds stores back, then build pages that catch people when they are ready to buy.

What is ecommerce SEO?

Ecommerce SEO is the work of getting an online store's category and product pages to rank when people search to buy. Stores have problems other sites do not: thousands of near-duplicate pages, filters that create endless URLs, and products that come and go. Good ecommerce SEO solves those first, and then builds authority for the pages that make money.

Why stores stay invisible

A store is not a website with extra pages.

A filter for size and color can create thousands of URLs that Google has to crawl. Manufacturer descriptions copied by hundreds of other shops give Google no reason to choose yours. A category page with just a grid of products has nothing to rank with.

This is why Shopify SEO services and other ecommerce work focus on structure first. Once Google can see a clean set of useful pages, your existing products often start to rank with no new content at all.

Then comes intent. "Work boots" belongs on a category. "Are steel toe boots comfortable" belongs in a guide. "Brand X model 12 size 11" belongs on a product page.

Your most valuable pages, with buyer keywords, useful copy and clear links to products.

Product pages and schema

Unique descriptions on best sellers, and product, price and review markup to earn rich results.

Buying guides

Content for people still deciding, linking to the products that fit them.

Links to pages that sell

Niche blogs and publications, aimed at categories and not just your homepage.

Revenue tracking

Organic revenue, orders and conversion rate, reported every month.

Shopify SEO services and more

Each platform has its own problems.

PlatformCommon problemsWhat I do
ShopifyFixed URL paths, duplicate product links through collections, limited robots control at first glanceFix internal links to canonical product URLs, optimize collections, compress themes and apps
BigCommerceFaceted URLs and thin brand pages, default templates can repeat contentControl facets, write category content, set schema carefully
WooCommerceDepends on hosting and plugins, can get slow, tag archives create thin pagesBetter hosting and caching, noindex thin archives, use an SEO plugin properly
How it works

Fix the base. Then push what sells.

  1. Audit the catalog

Crawl the store, compare it with Search Console, and find duplicates and wasted pages.

  2. Rank your products by margin

Effort goes where profit is, not where traffic is easiest.

  3. Rebuild categories

Buyer keywords, useful copy, clear filters, better internal links.

  4. Add schema and guides

Rich results on products, and guides that send readers to the right items.

  5. Earn links and report

Niche links to categories, with revenue reported monthly.

The effect

What you should see, and when.

Month 1

Technical cleanup and tracking. Index bloat starts to shrink, which helps Google focus on what matters.

Months 2 to 3

Category pages begin to climb, and rich results may appear on products.

Months 4 to 6

More non-brand traffic and more orders from organic search.

Months 6 to 12

Revenue compounds as links and content build up, and your paid ad spend can often come down.

Why, and why not

Which stores need ecommerce SEO, and which do not.

You need this if

  • Ad costs are eating your margin.
  • You have many impressions and few non-brand clicks.
  • People search for what you sell by type or category.
  • You have the margin to wait 6 months for payback.

You do not need this if

  • Your product is new and nobody searches for it. Build demand with ads or social first.
  • Your store does not convert. Fix the product pages and checkout first.
  • You have under 10 products and low order values. The math may not work yet.
  • You only sell through Amazon. That is a different kind of SEO.
Do it yourself or hire someone

What store owners can do, and where it gets hard.

TaskDo it yourself? Why people hire it out
Rewrite your top 10 product descriptionsYesDoing all of them takes a long time
Write category introsYesKnowing which keywords to use takes research
Compress imagesYes, with an appToo many apps slow your store
Handle filters and duplicatesRiskyMistakes can remove products from Google
Product schemaOften partly built inErrors are common, and they cost rich results
Earn niche linksSlowIt takes contacts and outreach
Copying manufacturer descriptions

Hundreds of stores use the same text. Rewrite at least your best sellers.

Deleting old products

Pages with links or traffic should redirect. Otherwise you lose what they earned.

Thin category pages

A grid of products gives Google little to rank. Add useful copy.

Installing too many apps

Each one adds scripts, and your speed pays for it.

Questions store owners ask

Ecommerce SEO FAQ.

What do ecommerce SEO services include?
Technical fixes for large catalogs, category and product page optimization, product schema, internal linking, buying guides and links to the pages that sell. Good services report revenue from organic search, not just traffic.
Which matters more, category pages or product pages?
Usually category pages. They target broader buying searches and collect links more naturally. Product pages win long-tail searches, such as exact models. You need both, and most stores neglect categories.
How much do ecommerce SEO services cost?
It depends on catalog size and competition. My Premium Growth plan at $1,999 a month covers a full store. Smaller stores can start on Growth at $799, and very large catalogs are quoted after the audit.
Which platform is best for SEO: Shopify, BigCommerce or WooCommerce?
All three can rank well. Each has quirks, such as Shopify's fixed URL paths and duplicate collection links. Moving platform for SEO alone rarely makes sense.
How do I handle out-of-stock products?
If it will return, keep the page live and say when. If it is gone for good and has links or traffic, redirect it to the closest product or category. Removing pages with no plan throws away earned rankings.
How long does ecommerce SEO take?
Expect early movement around 3 months and stronger revenue growth by 6 to 12 months. Seasonal stores should begin well before their peak, as pages need time to rank.

“Tell me your margins. It sounds like an odd thing for an SEO person to ask, but it decides which products we push first, and that decision is worth more than any tag.”
